What’s in The Sunflower Garden

Social Media

One of the great things about Facebook is the community it can foster. We can be on opposite sides of the world and still be in community with each other.

The world becomes smaller and friendships are made around the globe.

Let’s face it Social media can be a time suck, hours lost scrolling through pictures of other peoples lives whilst not really living our own. But – reconnecting with old friends, keeping up to date with happenings in the lives of family members not nearby, finding a kindred spirit in a new friend thousands of kilometres away; these are the good things.

Community

This is what I wanted when I created The Sunflower Garden. A place for crafty creatives to share their work and projects and encourage and help each other as we make and create.

Events

I also wanted a group setting to host some events and make it easier to share and see what those who join in have created. A slightly more relaxed setting than the main Facebook page for us all to post our pictures and be inspired.

On the website there is a tab that shows the events I am running or involved in. Any blog posts that pertain to these events will be able to be found by clicking on the event you are interested in.

Coming up…

In 2018 I am keen to see all the projects that will be progressed to completion through the Finish Along 2018.  You can read all about that here.  Round 1 starts on January 1st 2018.

In January I am joining in a sew along to make a dress called The Portia Party Dress.  This is a free pattern from Rebecca Page Patterns. The free pattern is for a knit fabric version of the dress, you can see on her website there are other lovely patterns as well.

One of my finishes for the Finish Along will be my #100days100blocks2017 quilt.  If you are interested this challenge is running again in March.  Check out Gnomeangel for all the details.
